چکیده
BackgroundPulmonary vein isolation is a widely used method to treat Atrial fibrillation (AF). However, many patients experience AF recurrence, leading repeated ablation requirements. In this study, we sought identify whether left atrial (LA) geometry can at risk of recurrence after second ablation.ObjectiveTo predict repeat using machine learning on clinical covariates and LA geometric features calculated from CT scans.MethodsThis retrospective single-center study included 102 who experienced single radiofrequency procedure underwent ablation. 38 had within 12 months Cardiac images taken prior were collected for each patient. Novel Computational Analysis of Left Atrial Anatomy Improves Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence after Ablation
The left atrium (LA) can change in size and shape due to atrial fibrillation (AF)-induced remodeling. These alterations can be linked to poorer outcomes of AF ablation. In this study, we propose a novel comprehensive computational analysis of LA anatomy to identify what features of LA shape can optimally predict post-ablation AF recurrence. To this end, we construct smooth 3D geometrical models...
متن کاملPredictors of late recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation.
BACKGROUND To predict the recurrence of atrial fibrillation is important for selecting patients who will be undergoing catheter ablation, several studies respectively evaluated the risk factor of the recurrence of atrial fibrillation post-ablation. OBJECTIVE To investigate the factors predicting the recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) after catheter ablation. METHODS 186 patients (55.12 ...
متن کاملPredictors of Recurrence After Catheter Ablation of Persistent Atrial Fibrillation.
Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) has been increasingly used to treat symptomatic patients.Within the last years a growing interest in ablation of persistent AF forms has evolved.Factors that may influence outcome of these procedures to treat persistent AF may be patient-specific (pre-procedural),procedure-related or may involve different post-ablation followup strategies. In this r...
متن کاملPredictors of atrial fibrillation recurrence after cryoballoon ablation
OBJECTIVE Cryoballoon ablation (CA) is a safe and efficient method for pulmonary vein isolation in the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). There are conflicting results about the predictors of AF recurrence. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of hematological indices to predict AF recurrence after CA. METHODS A total of 49 patients (mean age 58.3±12.2 years, 51.02% fe...
متن کاملPrediction of recurrence after cryoballoon ablation therapy in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors predicting the maintenance of sinus rhythm in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) who underwent cryoablation of the pulmonary veins (PVs). METHODS Fifty-one patients (54.6±10.4 years) with paroxysmal AF who underwent the cryoablation of the PVs were to the prospective trial. The clinical risk factors and echocar...
